Portraits
Leo, my dog. Leo has been a big part of my life from the day we found him. Leo is one of the most silly and playful dogs you will ever come by. Leo is a boxer/pitbull who has one of the warmest hearts a dog can have. From his brown and white spotted nose to his white “dipstick” tail as we call it, is one solid friend. Leo is really a people person, no matter who it is, he’ll put a big ‘ol smile on their face. With his constant licking and joyful bouncing he will make you a sucker for him the instant you meet him.
On a saturday, leo and I decided to go on a walk on the golf course, it was early in the morning and nobody was out, so we decided to sit down for a bit. There was a stick by my side, so I decided to throw it for leo to retrieve. I thought since I had my camera with me I should take a few of leo. I decided to snap a few when he was running towards me and got one the shows his personality perfectly.
The only problem with photographing animals is you can never get them to cooperate perfectly. I really had to try to get that candid picture you could call it. The lighting happened to be perfect at the time and the camera focused on its own. Once I sat down to look at the pictures, I knew I had taken a great one.
Objects
These photos were taken in indoor lighting and therefore 2 of the 3 are in black and white. I chose these objects because I feel they are things I see and think about everyday in a way. The Green man I see on my wall everyday and it reminds me of the courage I need to have everyday. This object is very powerful and that is why I knew I had to take a photo of it. The bottle of color may look very ordinary but it actually has a deeper meaning than it looks. This bottle is filled with color and designs, showing me hat it is okay to be different and not have to blend in with the rest of the crowd. The apple, on the other hand is plain and simple, this reminds me to stay humble and worry about myself. It also reminds me that I need to eat right everyday.
